En la víspera de Navidad el mago Drosselmeyer le obsequia a su sobrina Clara un Cascanueces. Al llegar la medianoche la magia llega, el Cascanueces cobra vida y lucha contra el Rey Ratón. Después de la batalla el Cascanueces se convierte en un hermoso príncipe. Para celebrar la victoria, Clara y el mágico soldado emprende un viaje hacia el Reino de los Dulces, donde los recibe el Hada de azúcar, su caballero y el resto de los dulces quienes celebran con una serie de danzas en honor a los invitados.
